Here's an assignment for our Industrial Design class, it was to design some weapons from one of the universes our instructor provided us with; there was a lot of sci-fi stuff but I ended up going for God of War cause I love me some sworrrdddsss and figured one of my first hard-surface designs should be subject matter I'm more familiar with, I'll tackle guns later. It was a lot of fun to work on and overall I think the design turned out well. I need to work on coming up with more ideas and layering concepts rather than just making cool-looking stuff, but I'm glad I figured out how to actually make the cool-looking stuff and can now focus more on the idea, learning a lot of good stuff about process and design with these assignments.
Our next step in the process is gonna be to actually model these in 3D, which should be craaazay. I'm debating whether I want to do it in Sculptris or pluck up my courage and try 3DS Max for the first time. We shall seeee.
