Figure Drawing 013 by Andantonius Figure Drawing 013 by Andantonius
Here's a chunk of figure drawings that I'm pretty pleased with; really focusing on my gesture drawing lately and pushing my skills with foreshortening and such. Gonna try and make this a daily endeavor- 20 of something every day, full figures, heads/hands/feets, whatever.

All these are between 2 and 10 minutes.

Gotta practice practice practiiiice.
No mature filter, cause get over it. =P

THANK YOU for that website with the photo references. <3

Also, what is the function of the arrows?

No problem!

The arrows are to show the force/movement of a part or multiple parts of the body. Basically it denotes what in that particular pose is in motion, where it came from and where it's going.

Is that just to make yourself stop and notice the movement? Or is it for some form of reference later?

Basically yeah, and it helps with the process of drawing. If you put down those arrows early on, you know what the main points of the gesture are and you can exaggerate those areas accordingly to get a more lifelike pose.

Really awesome! Do you use references or from memory? This is what i need to do... I am so bad with anatomy. Especially hands...

Thanks! These are all from reference, I try to do all of my studying either from life or photography, drawing from memory is just reciting what you've already learned from reality. These references all came from here: [link]

Haha, you're most observant, I am indeed going through that book! It's crazy good, helping out my gesture a ton.

And holy crap dude, your art has improved a ton! That's awesome that you're joining TAD, it'll be a much better instructor than I was, haha. Maybe we'll run in to each other in the student lounge sometime. :)
