I actually remembered to save progress shots for this piece, so here's a little walkthrough for it!
I know I promised a tutorial for my 1k watcher kiriban thing, and I would still very much like to do it, but this may have to suffice for now since I've got the next TAD workshop coming up next week. I'll still try to do something more involved before next semester starts though, so be of good cheer!
In the meantime, I hope this is useful or entertaining or something along those lines.
wonderfully done! it´s a really good idea to start sketching out some plain values of the picture and find and set them to the "main color" at the very beginning. even if only little of it remains, it will be of great help to get a harmonic color scheme in the end!
Thank you for taking the time to make these. The part especially about waiting until the next day for the last 5% because I always have those parts that bug me.
And yeah, that helps so much. In any situation if you have some kind of deadline you should always try to 'finish' a day early so you can correct those last few things that'll bug the heck out of you the next day when you see it with fresh eyes.
very inspiring!
