Some quick studies to get a feel for drawing birds for a piece I'm working on. Had a lot of fun with these, really starting to dig Painter's digital watercolors! They can make some really neat effects when you use them purposefully.

These ones I posted up cause they turned out interesting enough that I thought some others might enjoy them; but I didn't make them with the intention of posting them. ;)

And I love how the digital watercolor is !

And I use it actually pretty similar to how you would use real watercolor; I used Painter's New Simple Water brush from the Digital Watercolor section, then painted layer by layer light to dark, "drying" the watercolor between each layer so the strokes stayed intact.
