Temperate forests are densely covered with trees. They may be broadleaf, coniferous, or mixed forests, depending on the area. Mature forests will have a canopy, up to 50m high, and an understory about 10m shorter. These biomes experience hot and cold seasons, though not all may get snow during the cold season. They are generally humid and have high biodiversity. In particularily humid areas, where forest fires occur rarely, trees may grow to well over 100m tall.

Another painting for #SovereignStates; a worldbuilding tournament where you develop a civilization from the ground up. Be sure to check it out; auditions are open this week!
This one was really fun to compose and paint; lots of fun things to do with vegetation and light.
This is beautiful. Your brushstrokes look so haphazard and 'natural' and the lighting is so impressive! It looks like you did this so easily and without even thinking about it! There's so much detail in your lack of detail. I wish I could paint like this.
Thanks very much! I'm glad you think the brush strokes are working well, I've been trying to work on them lately, though I think this particular piece is a little too haphazard, would look better with fewer brush strokes that were really well placed. I'm definitely a big fan of leaving things somewhat undefined and letting the imagination do some of the work, so that's cool to hear that it's working somewhat in this.
